Differential Diagnosis and Functional Management of Common Fibromyalgia Masqueraders

Download Now

Date:  Wednesday,  July 20th,2016

Time:  8pm EST (5pm PST)

Summary:

Rather than be viewed as one grandiose syndrome into which all patients with unexplained widespread pain and fatigue are lumped, Fibromyalgia (FMS)-like symptoms should result in a comprehensive work-up to properly determine the underlying foundational elements of the patients complaints. In a follow-up to last month's presentation Dr. Brady will outline the three distinct clinical subsets that exist which often lead to an erroneous diagnosis of FMS including:

  • Organic medical diseases which mimic FMS
  • Functional/metabolic disorders which mimic FMS
  • Musculoskeletal disorders which mimic FMS.

Specific diagnostic and therapeutic strategies will be presented for each of these subsets.
