Staff Accountant

Designs for Health is one of the nation's leading suppliers of nutritional supplements to the health care market.   We are currently seeking a mid-to-senior level staff accountant to be a core part of our Accounting team. This position reports to the Controller and will interact with all aspects of our accounting functions.

Location: East Windsor, CT
Hours: 9 – 5:30 (full time salaried position)
Pay: commensurate with education/experience

Job duties:

• Payroll and general ledger accounting routines
• Assist with and coordinate the month-end close.
• Perform account analysis and reconciliations.
• Standard Cost, inventory, and fixed asset accounting and variance analysis
• Assist with the preparation of tax reports and filings
• Inter-company reconciliation and consolidations. 
• Assist with the implementation of new accounting policies and procedures as well as administering existing policies and procedures.
• Document internal operating and control procedures
• Other projects as assigned

Qualifications:

• BS/BA degree in accounting
• 3+ years’ relevant experience – preferably in manufacturing, merchandising or public accounting environment
• ERP/Accounting system software experience, NetSuite and/or Peachtree a plus
• CPA or CMA desirable but not required
• High motivation and strong analytical mind
