The power of myrosinase and sulforaphane*

Sulforaphane is a powerful compound naturally found in cruciferous vegetables like broccoli. It supports the body’s detoxification pathways, promotes cellular health, and supports antioxidant status.* Unlike typical cruciferous vegetables, this formula is free of goitrogens. And unlike many commercial supplements, BroccoProtect™ goes a step further — it includes myrosinase to facilitate the conversion to active sulforaphane and also provides preformed sulforaphane for optimal efficacy and detox support.*

BroccoProtect™

Broccoli Seed Extract with Myrosinase for Detoxification, Antioxidant Status, and Healthy Estrogen Metabolism*

Key Performance Benefits*

  • Supports healthy detoxification pathways
  • Promotes normal cellular function and antioxidant status
  • Supports healthy estrogen metabolism

What This Product Is

BroccoProtect™ is a blend of specially cultivated broccoli seed extract (as TrueBroc®) and mustard seed powder (Sinapis alba) that provide sulforaphane glucosinolate (SGS) and the myrosinase enzyme, respectively. Myrosinase is needed for the maximal conversion of SGS to broccoli’s beneficial compound, sulforaphane (SFN). BroccoProtect™ is designed to help support detoxification pathways, antioxidant status, healthy estrogen metabolism, and cellular health.*

Sulforaphane glucosinolate targets pathways in the body that help support enzymes involved in the optimal function of both phases of detoxification.* Raw cruciferous vegetable consumption in the U.S. is estimated at two servings per week, providing approximately 13 mg of SGS per day. To receive beneficial amounts of dietary SGS, three cups of raw broccoli or other cruciferous vegetables must be consumed per day. Additionally, cooking methods and food processing may inactivate the myrosinase in these vegetables, making supplementation with this formula a practical approach to reaching optimal sulforaphane levels.

Mechanism of Action

Sulforaphane Conversion

The enzyme myrosinase (MYR) is required to convert sulforaphane glucosinolate (SGS) into its active form, sulforaphane (SFN), which is responsible for the beneficial effects of cruciferous vegetables. BroccoProtect™ provides both MYR (from mustard seed powder) and SGS (from broccoli seed extract) to ensure reliable conversion to active sulforaphane.

Detoxification Support*

Sulforaphane targets pathways that help support enzymes involved in the optimal function of both phases of detoxification. This dual-phase support helps the body properly dispose of harmful substances, excess hormones, and natural waste products from normal metabolism.*

Cellular and Estrogen Metabolism Support*

Beyond detoxification, sulforaphane promotes normal cellular function, supports antioxidant status, and helps maintain healthy estrogen metabolism — making this formula relevant for both general detoxification support and hormonal health.*

Athletic Applications

  • Individuals seeking to support healthy detoxification pathways*
  • Those looking to promote normal cellular function and antioxidant status*
  • Individuals seeking to support healthy estrogen metabolism*
  • Those looking for a convenient source of bioavailable sulforaphane with myrosinase for reliable conversion
  • Individuals who do not consume adequate servings of cruciferous vegetables daily

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is myrosinase included in this formula?

Myrosinase is the enzyme required to convert sulforaphane glucosinolate (SGS) into its active form, sulforaphane (SFN). Cooking and food processing can inactivate myrosinase in cruciferous vegetables, so including it in the formula ensures reliable conversion and optimal bioavailability of sulforaphane.

How does BroccoProtect™ compare to eating broccoli?

To receive beneficial amounts of dietary sulforaphane glucosinolate, three cups of raw broccoli or other cruciferous vegetables must be consumed per day. One approach is to combine one serving of cruciferous vegetables and one serving of BroccoProtect™ per day to help reach optimal amounts.

Who may benefit most from BroccoProtect™?

Individuals seeking to support healthy detoxification pathways, promote normal cellular function and antioxidant status, and maintain healthy estrogen metabolism may benefit.* It is also appropriate for those who do not consume adequate daily servings of cruciferous vegetables.
