What is monolaurin?

Monolaurin is a bioactive compound derived from lauric acid, a medium-chain fatty acid found in coconut oil, and is also naturally present in breast milk, where it plays an important role in immune support.* In its monolaurin form, lauric acid demonstrates greater immune-supporting activity than lauric acid alone.* Because only small amounts of monolaurin are formed from dietary lauric acid, supplementation may be helpful to support normal immune responses, gut health, and microbial balance.*
